WEEK 5: DAY 4 · THURSDAY
24-HOUR FAST

I fast for greater physical and mental efficiency." - Plato

Happy Thursday and HAPPY 24-HOUR FAST DAY! 💥 This is a big day for you! Today you have a chance to begin healing your bodies and your cells. Remember what we've learned about extended fasting - it is not happening TO us but FOR us.  Here are some benefits to fasting:

  • improved thinking and memory

  • heart health

  • better physical performance

  • (potential) prevention against diabetes and obesity

  • tissue health

Here are some tips to help you navigate your 24-hour fast today:

  • Focus on water intake today! A cup of black coffee (iced or hot) is okay but let water consumption be your main focus.  💦💦

  • Sip on herbal tea throughout the day when you feel hungry. No gum.

  • Spend some time unwinding and rest your body and mind! You may decide to sit in the sauna, go on a walk or spend some time in meditation. Just be sure and rest!

  • Break your fast with a well-balanced meal full of carbs, healthy fats and protein! Remember, we are not trying to consume all of our daily macros in one meal. Do not binge when breaking your 24-hour fast. You will not meet your macros today and that is okay!

  • Be proud of yourself for what you are doing to help your body by completing a 24-hour fast!  Reach out if you need encouragement!

As a reminder, if you are pregnant or nursing, you should NOT participate in the 24-hour fast.  Simply participate in a regular macro day today.

TODAY’S ACTION ITEMS:

  • Stay busy and out of the kitchen as much as possible.

  • Get your mind right - commit mentally and you will be successful! Remember - it is ALL about mindset, YOU CAN DO THIS!

  • Do you have any plans for today that may help you succeed? Let us know how you're doing!

  • Weekly Affirmation: “I will commit to myself and my health today. I will utilize the resources I have been given, including my community. There is no finish line, only growth and progression. These will lead me towards who I want to become.”
