WEEK 4: DAY 5 · FRIDAY
Keeping an Attitude of Gratitude!
REGULAR MACRO DAY
“This week, I will not break promises to myself. I believe that every time I break a promise to myself, I begin to distrust my own words a little more and lose a little more faith in my abilities. I am committed to working on self-trust and self-love.”
Happy Friday, friends! 🎉 You’ll hear me say this often - it's important to celebrate all of your wins, big or small, because those are the things/thoughts that improve the way we think. The ultimate goal is to change our mindsets about health and about ourselves. Did you know you can train your mind just like you would train a muscle? We have to condition our minds just like we do our muscles. Again, having a positive mindset is a huge part of your overall journey. I can not stress this enough, friends.
Today we are going to focus on keeping an attitude of gratitude! Did you know that you can train your mind to find the good in all circumstances? Yep! Circumstances happen. Unfortunate circumstances happen. We get the privilege of retraining our minds to focus on the good, even when the circumstance doesn’t look good. That doesn't mean that things will be perfect; rather, you’ll have a new way of handling life’s curveballs through the lens’ of gratitude. You'll handle internal and external conflict differently. Mindset. Mindset. Mindset. ✨
Spend a moment to think about what you’re grateful for today. Maybe you’re grateful for your body’s ability to move. Maybe you're thankful because you're feeling hope throughout this journey. Maybe you're thankful for nourishing, whole foods. Whatever it is, I want to know. An attitude of gratitude changes everything!
TODAY’S ACTION ITEMS:
Post a screenshot of your macros. I want to see everyone's macros today!
What’s been your biggest win this week? Share so we can celebrate with you! I challenge you to share your win on social media today. You’ll be surprised at how it adds an extra layer of accountability. Besides, someone else needs to see your success and feel hope!
What are you grateful for today?
BONUS ITEMS:
We have been speaking a lot over the last few weeks about how the foods we eat and our exercise habits contribute to our health, but in actuality, there are many things that make up our overall health. Whole foods and exercise are important and nothing can replace them; however, it is important to consider the following (but certainly not limited to these): sleeping habits, relationships (both familial and friendships), stress levels, mental health and gratitude. Yes, gratitude. We spoke about gratitude in this morning's post and I want to chat about it a little more because it’s just that important.
Let's take a closer look at the effects that thankfulness and gratitude have on our overall health. The jury is still out concerning whether or not showing gratitude is actually beneficial for our physical health; however, some studies suggest this. With that, it is certain that expressing gratitude is beneficial for our psychological health. In my book, that is always a win! We all know our journeys are about far more than a number on the scale. Much of our journeys come down to having a positive and disciplined mindset. If showing gratitude helps with our mental health, then I believe that will spill over into our physical health! Read this article from Psychology Today about the proven benefits of gratitude!

XOXO!
