WEEK 3: DAY 6 · SATURDAY

Why We Enjoy Occasional Treats!

REGULAR MACRO DAY + TREAT DAY!

Weekly affirmation: “This week I will choose to trust the process, trust my coach and trust myself. I believe that my journey is a marathon and not a sprint. I am doing good things for my mind and my body every day. I am becoming the very best version of myself.”

Happy Saturday, happy leg day and happy treat day! 🥳 My hope is that you all intend on enjoying a guilt-free treat of choice today. We don’t believe that you should ever have to exercise for food, but we do strategically pair our treat day with our leg day workout! Because your lower body has the largest muscles in the body, you will continue to burn calories long after a leg day workout is over; hence, why we treat ourselves on leg day! 👌

Most of the fad diets you’ve probably tried in the past don’t work long-term because they’re overly restrictive. They focus on the amount you’re eating (encouraging you to eat less) as opposed to focusing on eating MORE whole food nutrition. They also do not teach you how to strategically incorporate guilt free treats. Most people aren’t going to go the rest of their lives without another treat - and who wants to? That’s no fun! While we certainly need to find other things besides food that bring joy to our lives, we also know that sometimes it's okay to enjoy a treat!

Remember friends, there is no guilt or shame allowed here! 🚀 We believe in living a sustainable lifestyle that teaches you how to have an occasional treat without sabotaging your goals. If you get off track, recognize it, refocus and pick up where you left off. It's that simple and that gracious! Remember to go ahead and decide on your treat early in the day.  Track it in your app and work backwards from there! ✨

Hi, friends! Hopefully you've already read this morning's post about our reasoning behind WHY we enjoy the occasional treat! We are anything but a deprivation diet. 🤩 Today is a day in which you can enjoy a treat of choice, but I challenge you to try to keep it within your macros if you still have fat loss goals.

More to learn

While we encourage you to enjoy a treat of choice without any guilt, you may find that processed treats don't treat you as kindly anymore as you continue along your journey. Oftentimes, after we begin consuming more whole foods, our taste buds and bodies simply don't prefer processed junk food with added sugars. Remember the video I posted in the beginning regarding why we become addicted to junk food? Do you also remember how the author, Griff Nielson, said that as we begin to eat more whole, clean foods, then our taste buds and our preferences will change? This really happens! We crave what we feed.

With this in mind, I wanted to give you all another clean treat recipe today! It isn't made up entirely of whole foods, but it is clean and delicious! Who has heard of chia seeds? In our VIP membership, we have the FASTer Way in the Kitchen segments and we recently chatted about chia seed pudding in one of the episodes. I was inspired so I went on the hunt for more healthy dessert/treat day chia seed pudding recipes for you! Check out this chocolate peanut butter chia seed pudding below and let me know if you try it!
